Partnerships with Rural Rescues, Shelters and Pounds
MEOW Mission, Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of life for pets and we work in partnership with animal welfare organizations to keep pets out of overcrowded systems, support caregivers, and help cats and dogs find safe, licensed rescues whenever possible.

For many years, we have built strong relationships with rescues, shelters and veterinary partners across Missouri. By working together, we are able to reach rural communities where resources are often limited and the need is greatest.

Our team understands these challenges firsthand. We have spent years volunteering with animal shelters and rescues, serving on animal welfare boards, and working directly with the pets and people who need help the most. Through these experiences, we’ve seen how collaboration and compassion can transform lives—helping pets live healthy, stable, and happy lives.

What We Do
Through continued partnerships and community support, MEOW Mission, Inc. focuses on the following goals:
Long-Term Cat Sponsorship
We sponsor long-term or overlooked cats in shelters and rescues within our service area to increase their visibility and, when possible, assist with networking them to larger licensed rescues.
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Education & Support
We offer education and training for successful TNR efforts in rural communities. When possible (and if resources allow), we will go to other areas to provide training and education on new TNR programs.
Advocacy & Ordinance Support
We offer resources and guidance to help municipalities revise or develop ordinances that protect cats, their caregivers, and humane trappers.
Community Education
We serve as a community resource by providing information on responsible pet ownership, spay/neuter options, and access to veterinary care. We believe no cat should be mistreated or go hungry, and we are working toward a future where no animal is euthanized due to a lack of resources or a home.
Veterinary Partnerships
We work closely with low-cost clinics and veterinarians to provide medical funding that helps families keep their pets. We also support and organize TNR clinics, partnering with spay/neuter clinics and utilizing resources such as the University of Missouri Veterinary Services mobile unit to provide on-site surgeries when available.
